French-born artist G. has lived in the United States since attending business school. In 2020, a traumatic injury left him permanently blind in one eye, profoundly changing the way he perceived the world. During his recovery, his partner encouraged him to begin painting as a therapeutic outlet and a means of healing.

What started as a path toward recovery soon evolved into something far greater, as G. began creating monumental, vividly colored abstract works that resonate deeply with viewers through their emotion, energy, and scale.

G. approached art through relentless experimentation, exploring painting, sculpture, collage, and mixed media before discovering the visual language that now defines his practice. Working almost entirely by intuition, he rarely begins with a predetermined image. Instead, each composition develops organically, revealing unexpected faces, figures, and landscapes that seem to emerge from beneath the surface, as though the work possesses a life and direction of its own.

His creative process is both instinctive and exploratory — a means of uncovering deeper truths about the material and emotional worlds. Rather than relying solely on traditional brushes, G. incorporates raw organic materials, found objects, layered collage, industrial media, and unconventional tools to construct richly textured surfaces.

G. believes that the loss of one form of sight awakened another way of seeing — one rooted in intuition, heightened perception, and creative discovery. His paintings are less concerned with depicting the visible world than with revealing what exists beneath it: memory, emotion, tension, transformation, and the unseen forces that shape human experience.

Based in Los Angeles, G. continues to create large-scale abstract works that invite viewers to slow down, look deeply, and discover imagery that may not reveal itself immediately.
